Hello there! I'm a St John's based photographer and geologist from New-Brunswick. I have lived in the province for over 10 years and my love and appreciation for Newfoundland culture and the people are as strong as ever. I enjoy many types of photography including street and portrait, and find great pleasure in documenting the incredible scenes offered by local fishing communities. Nature and landscape photography however are at the heart of my photography, and recently my career as a geologist has brought me to incorporate elements of geology into my landscape photography. Particularly, I scour the coasts in order to find the perfect lines, the perfect fold, the perfect visual imagery that can portray geological concepts in simple but stunning ways. The coasts of Newfoundland are particularly well suited for such purpose due to the readily exposed vertical and horizontal expanses of rock they offer, and because of the incredible diversity in geology present here. I wish to convey in my photography the sense of beauty that can be experienced when seeing a landscape from the perspective of geological time.
